ORHSAlumni.com Now Online Providing Information And An Opportunity For Social Interaction For All Oak Ridge High School Alumni

Oak Ridge, TN May 26, 2004 -- All alumni of all graduating classes from Oak Ridge High School of Oak Ridge, TN now have one website where they can communicate with each other and it's Free! This free service which is unmatched gives you the opportunity to re-connect with former class mates, check up on the latest happenings, find out about your class reunion or share what is going on in your life with old friends.

ORHSAlumni.com is actually an outgrowth or more appropriately a "next generation" of a group of ORHS 70's era graduates that was formed in the "Groups" section of Yahoo! after the 9-11 tragedy. The group's founder, Andy Jones (ORHS class of '74) of Van Alstyne, TX was looking for a way to reconnect with old classmates from Oak Ridge in an open forum atmosphere. Currently there are over 100 members of that group but the abilities of Yahoo's groups forums were limited and becoming stretched. The phenomenal growth of the ORHS Alumni group necessitated a change to a full featured web environment.

Mr. Jones, a web marketing consultant and owner of 7/24 Design Group wanted to see this successful concept improved upon and grow to allow participation of all graduating years and so set up ORHSAlumni.com. With the greatly expanded bandwidth and disk space ORHSAlumni.com can accommodate former students and staff from the earliest graduating class of '44 to the present.

The main participation area of this innovative website is the message forum. The registration process is automated and only takes a few seconds. The Message Boards or Forums are the heart and soul of the community. Jones also notes “ we are NOT a commercial enterprise. We do not collect personal information for resale or solicit our members.”

Something else this site offers that is unique is a large Picture Gallery where you can upload your favorite pictures from years past or more recent pictures showing everyone how gracefully you have aged. You can also have your own Personal Gallery to show off the family, the big fish or a hot car!
