New BrowserPal Add-On for IE Improves Text and Password Control
Cheshire, UK, 20th January 2003: For Immediate Release.
X2Net Limited announces the release of BrowserPal, an Internet Explorer add-on that makes capturing, managing and recalling your logon usernames; passwords; credit card numbers; addresses; phone numbers; and other frequently used text data very easy.
Using BrowserPal there is no need to hunt around for scraps of paper with that elusive password on, or switch away to another program to find the details you need. A new BrowserPal Explorer Bar appears in the left side of the IE window itself (in the same way that the standard Favorites and History panes do). Simply select the item you need and drag and drop it into the input field in the web page you are visiting.
Capturing data from web pages is equally simple. Drag the data from the web page and drop it on the new BrowserPal Explorer Bar, then give it whatever name you want. Ideal for capturing login information provided during a web site sign-up process for example.
BrowserPal has a familiar Explorer-like interface allowing you to create folders and subfolders of your own choice to organize your data, and enter both single-line and multi-line items. You can drag and drop items and folders around to reorganize your data, and can export and print it easily if you wish.
BrowserPal keeps your data safe and secure. It implements built-in backup and restore and encryption using the RijnDael Advanced Encryption Standard. (The RijnDael cipher is a Federal Information Processing Standard, making the data extremely secure). The BrowserPal interface can also be locked on command; automatically after a period without use; or when the screensaver starts. Once locked a master password is required to unlock the interface and access the data.
As well as being tightly integrated with Internet Explorer, BrowserPal can also be used to insert data in almost any other program by the use of unique mouse-clicks and pop-up menus, ideal for boilerplate replies to e-mails for example.
Evaluation versions of BrowserPal, and full contact and purchase details are available at http://www.x2net.com.
BrowserPal will run on any 32-bit Windows system using Internet Explorer 4 or above. BrowserPal costs 15 US Dollars. Customers can purchase in US Dollars, Sterling or the Euro.
