Sept.15, 2003- Arcadia, CA— AMREL Corporation today announced that Custom Crime Reporting Solutions (CCRS) has joined their AMREL Approved Vendor (AAV) program. By adding CCRS to their group of mobile computing partners, AMREL enhances its ability to assist small to mid-sized law enforcement agencies with user-specific, “customized” Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware and software solutions.

CCRS was started by two Southern California police officers after developing a crime reporting software application for their agency. For the past 6 years CCRS has continued to develop software that is both powerful and practical. They can custom write any program, although their basic software modules are so well conceived that they’re ready to setup and deploy. According to Yusi Ho, AMREL System’s Director of Sales, “this is exactly the kind of industry specific applications we are seeking to integrate with our rugged mobile computers.” Ho adds, “strategic partnering with companies such as CCRS, allows AMREL to provide our customers with easy turnkey field computing solutions.”

AMREL and CCRS will also join together in conducting seminars for law enforcement agencies that are considering implementation of field computing applications. The first segment of these seminars will explain the various hardware and software options -- for applications ranging from crime & collision reporting, mapping, records search, and other in-the-field and police station activities. The second segment will cover such subjects as how to utilize the technology for maximum efficiency and minimum training, tips on submitting for federal, state and local grant funds, as well as factors to be considered in determining an agency’s direction based on requirements and budget.

Since the 1990’s, AMREL’s ROCKY has established itself as one of the most dependable, fully rugged mobile computers that is widely used by law enforcement agencies. CCRS software allows agencies to use their own forms and procedures – greatly reducing time and training. It includes custom crime reports, their traffic collision module, field interview, detective case management, evidence inventory and control, K-9 tracking, and other modules.
