Cremto Enriches Educational Sector with New Web-Based Reporting Tool
  2004-07-16
Company: CREMTO INC (Company Info, More Press Releases )

President and Chief Executive Officer Matt Dean announced the official launch of Cremto Inc.’s StudentProgress.Info system. The system, located at the web address http://www.studentprogress.info/ brings together students, teachers and parents – the triangle of education.

Barrie, Ontario July 16, 2004 -- Teachers can log on at any time via the web address and their assigned username and password (assigned by their school) and enter information regarding marks, attendance and even comments to parents. Teachers can log in from anywhere, including home or in the school.

Students can also log in from anywhere at any time to see how they are progressing in school. They can view their current marks and attendance records that were entered by their teachers.

Parents can keep tabs on their child’s education by logging in to the site with their assigned information. Not only can parents view information such as attendance records and marks, but parents can submit notes for absence via the system. If a parent submits a note for absence, it will be emailed to the teacher for verification, at which time the teacher can approve or reject the message.

The StudentProgress.Info system includes a separate, yet integrated, feature called CourseAccess.Net. The CourseAccess.Net system allows teachers to post homework problems, documents and other resources, documents, messages and announcements to students. Parents are also able to use this resource to see what their child has been doing in class.

Teachers can post computerized versions of worksheets online on the CourseAccess.Net system in order to eliminate the famous “I lost my sheet” excuse in schools.

All communication between the user and the system is encrypted by 128 bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Very little confidential data is stored on the system, and is limited to name, marks and attendance records.

In order to make the system free to eligible schools and school boards, Cremto Inc. has implemented web-based advertising with Google Inc. to subsidize the costs of running the service. Cremto Inc. is also actively seeking out advertising partners interested in marketing to this unique audience.
