FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 28, 2004 -- SocialWorkJobBank.com, the online job board of Harrisburg, PA-based The New Social Worker magazine, has been selected for inclusion in Weddle’s Recruiter’s Guide to Employment Web Sites 2004 and Weddle’s Job Seeker’s Guide to Employment Web Sites 2004. The site caters to professional bachelor’s and master’s level social workers and the employers who are hiring them.
“I am thrilled that SocialWorkJobBank has been chosen for this honor,” said Linda Grobman, a social worker who started the magazine and the site. “It grew out of our SocialWorker.com site, which started in 1997. Several years ago, employers started contacting me about placing job listings on the site. Eventually, I decided to expand to a new site that would be a full-fledged job board and career center for social workers.”
Weddle’s guides are the leading source of information on the 40,000+ job boards and employment-related sites on the Internet. The books’ editor, Peter Weddle, has been dubbed the “Zagat of the recruitment industry” by the American Staffing Association.
Peter Weddle said, in a letter to site administrator Grobman, “Each year, we collect data from and evaluate thousands of job boards and career portals and select just 350 sites for inclusion in our publications. While admitting to some bias, therefore, we think having your site profiled in a WEDDLE’s Guide is a high honor indeed, and I congratulate you and your colleagues on this singular distinction.” He invited Grobman to display a Weddle’s icon on the site, “…so that recruiters and job seekers alike will know that your site is among the very best on the Internet.”
Each site in the Recruiter’s Guide is featured with a full-page listing, outlining services available to employers and recruiters, site statistics, and contact information. The Job Seeker’s Guide provides a ½-page description of each site.
