What is Resource Tuner Console
Resource Tuner Console is a tool that enables developers to automate editing of resources in Windows executables. This command-line resource editor allows using VBScript to create a repeatable process for updating and customizing resources during the final stage of the build process, or at any time you wish to make modifications of file version information on existing Windows 32 and 64-bit EXE or DLL files without needing to recompile the source code.
Why would you need Resource Tuner Console?
Modifying the properties of the EXE file after you build it is a manual process that you would rather not have to do every time you build a new release. Resource Tuner Console takes the drudgery out of manual editing and repetitive tasks. Resource Tuner Console is well suited for integrating into your build system. Whenever large numbers of files have to be processed or to be accessible through scripting, you need Resource Tuner Console.
What you can do with Resource Tuner Console
Application developers often need a command-line utility to allow modification of file version information on existing Windows EXE or DLL files. While these files already contain a Version Info resource (embedded into the executable during linking), Resource Tuner Console enables you to automatically stamp their version during the release process to insure consistency. Resource Tuner Console also enables you to add versioning to files that contain no resources at all.
If your build process involves replacing an icon resource with an icon from an ico file, Resource Tuner Console is the solution. It supports any manipulation of icons based on a specified criteria.
Resource Tuner Console replaces all the string resources of a medium-sized program within a second. In addition, you can convert a single-language resource directory into a multi-lingual one, or create a copy of the resource with another specified language.
Resource Tuner Console fully supports Unicode. It allows you to edit strings in and work in multiple languages. No more struggling with OEM/ANSI code pages. Make your applications and data operable and accessible in different languages.
Sample scripts illustrated the new features can be found within the Resource Tuner Console package. An evaluation version can be downloaded from http://www.reseditor.com/rtc-download.htm
