MONTREAL, Nov. 7 -- Over the past six years, Marvin Huffaker Consulting has earned a reputation for top-notch services in messaging and collaboration. As a Novell platinum partner, they specialize in GroupWise-based solutions. They have several hundred active customers with a wide variety of needs and configurations.

Because they specialize in GroupWise solutions, a number of Marvin Huffaker Consulting's customers were using GWGuardian* when the Messaging Architects* announced that they were switching to a new technology.

According to Marvin Huffaker Consulting, many customers were unhappy with this option, and they faced losing a number of customers who said that this proposed change would put their GroupWise installation in jeopardy by people looking for excuses to move to Microsoft. According to Huffaker, customers, particularly those in the public sector, simply didn't have the money to make this change, especially when their solution was already working well for them.

The GWAVA Option

In August, GWAVA announced that it was going to offer upgrades and support for Vircom modusGate. Marvin Huffaker Consulting welcomed this news. They could now provide a good option for customers to stay with their existing solutions where the upgrade path just didn't fit.

"GWAVA has a lot of great products and they are a solid, reputable company specializing in GroupWise-related solutions. We are pleased that they are now supporting the modusGate product. They stepped up and gave our customers the choice not to change just for change's sake," explained Marc Potter of Marvin Huffaker Consulting.

GWAVA Keeps the Light on for GWGuardian Customers

GWAVA has entered into an agreement with Vircom, the developers of modusGate (licensed by Messaging Architects in 2002 and sold under its brand "GWGuardian"), to resell and support its product.
